The work is paid according to the collective agreement for the private social services sector and is suitable for a good person seeking full-time, part-time, occasional, or gig work. As a personal assistant, you can define how much and when you work, so the job is also suitable alongside another job or studies. You do not need special training for the assistant's work; the right attitude and reliability are the most important qualities for an excellent personal assistant. WHAT IS PERSONAL ASSISTANCE AND WHAT DOES AN ASSISTANT DO? Personal assistance is a service where a personal assistant acts as the client's hands and feet, performing the actions that the client would do themselves but cannot manage alone due to a disability or illness. The purpose of a personal assistant is to help the client with everyday tasks both at home and outside the home. Assistance tasks are often ordinary daily chores that we all perform in our own lives. Therefore, the assistant's work does not include tasks that require a separate degree, such as a practical nurse's degree, and anyone can act as an assistant. Assistance tasks include, for example, assisting the client in shopping, outdoor activities, eating or cooking, dressing, hobbies, or home care. WHAT KIND OF PERSON IS SUITED TO BE AN ASSISTANT? However, experience or training in the assistance and care sector may be beneficial for some clients. WHAT KIND OF SHIFTS ARE AVAILABLE AND CAN I INFLUENCE THEM? Personal assistance is a service that takes place on weekdays as well as weekends, and possible shifts are often available from morning to evening.
