Practical Nurse

The wellbeing services county of South Savo (Eloisa) is seeking a practical nurse for a permanent position in Juva home care starting September 1, 2026, or by agreement. We work in home care as multi-professional teams, where the practical nurse is responsible for the care of home care clients according to the client plan. We are looking for an employee with strong professional expertise in the care and nursing of various client groups, especially elderly and memory-impaired clients. We require an interest in developing your own professional skills and the work community. You are genuinely interested in the care of the elderly, and your approach to work is focused on maintaining functional capacity. The work requires strong clinical expertise. We expect good interaction and cooperation skills, commitment, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure. The working hours for a practical nurse are primarily two-shift work, but include night shifts according to the unit's needs. Shifts are also available on weekends. Employees mainly operate in Juva home care but work in other areas as needed. Valid medication permits are required for the job, so Love-exams and demonstrations must be completed or have been completed for the role. Eligibility requirements are a vocational qualification in the social and health care sector suitable for the position or a previous vocational qualification of the same level, as well as registration in the professional register of the License and Supervision Authority (Valvira). In addition, a valid driver's license and access to a car are required, as well as sufficient oral and written Finnish language skills for performing the duties. The position requires vaccination protection as required by Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a health certificate regarding respiratory tuberculosis according to Section 55. A six (6) month probationary period applies to the employment relationship. A person working with the elderly must present an acceptable criminal record extract before starting work in employment relationships exceeding 3 months (Supervision Act 741/2023 Section 28).
