Vocational Teacher (Electrical Installations)

This role is primarily to guide students in completing their studies and transitioning into working life. Working hours vary daily and weekly, and our breaks are largely aligned with those of our students. Your duties will depend on your preferences and prior experience. You may teach basic topics to beginners, more advanced topics to continuing students, or more complex submodules. As an Omnia teacher you can always develop your own work. The working environment is collaborative, with colleagues ready to help and teamwork at the core of our culture. New teachers receive thorough onboarding and we also provide a track to develop teaching and guidance skills. The environment enables you to develop your own teaching methods and implement innovative ideas. Pedagogical studies for the teaching role can be completed alongside work. Qualifications are defined by the decree on the qualifications of educational personnel A986/1998. The role requires a suitable electrical engineering higher education degree, such as a University of Applied Sciences engineer (AMK insinööri) or DI. In addition, experience in forming apprenticeship agreements and organizing trades qualifications is expected. It is important that the selected person is a professional in accordance with the Electricity Act 1135/2016 and the standard SFS 6002 for low voltage. A B-class driving licence is also required. Desirable: electrical certification 1 or 2 and knowledge of building automation. The position includes a probationary period. The selected person must present a criminal background check in accordance with law 504/2002.
