Social Care Worker

We are recruiting for Pohjanmaan hyvinvointialue a social care worker for a fixed-term position from 1 September 2026 to 2 August 2027. The role is positioned within the open care services for children and families, specifically in the supportive family and supporter network work. The initial placement is Pietarsaari, with the service area covering the whole Pohjanmaa well-being region. The duties of the support relationship coordinator include recruiting, advising and guiding volunteer foster families and supporters, processing applications, mapping suitable foster families and supporters, and matching a foster family or supporter to a child in need of support. The role requires close collaboration with the responsible social worker for the child, foster families, supporters and other stakeholders. It also involves planned development and marketing of the support relationships program. We value good collaboration and negotiation skills and the ability to manage several processes simultaneously. The work may involve urgent situations and requires the ability to make quick decisions, prioritize tasks and work under pressure. The coordinator is responsible for carrying out services in accordance with applicable legislation and organizational guidelines. Knowledge of social welfare services and the service system is an asset. The position covers the entire Pohjanmaa region, and therefore Finnish and Swedish language skills, a driving licence and access to a personal car are required.
