We are seeking a social worker for a fixed-term position in the Ostrobothnia Wellbeing Services County from September 1, 2026, to August 2, 2027. The position is located within the support relationship services of the open services for children and families. The primary place of work is Jakobstad, but the area of operation covers the entire Ostrobothnia Wellbeing Services County. The duties of the support relationship coordinator include the recruitment, guidance, and counseling of volunteer foster families and support persons. The coordinator processes applications for support relationship services and assesses foster families and support persons. They are also responsible for processing foster family and support person applications for children in need of support and matching a suitable foster family or support person with the child. The work involves close cooperation with the social worker responsible for the child's affairs, foster families, support persons, and other necessary collaborating parties. Additionally, the role includes the systematic development and marketing of support relationship services. We value good interaction and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to manage several simultaneous processes. The work occasionally involves urgent situations and requires the ability to make quick decisions, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure. In their professional role, the support relationship coordinator is responsible for the systematic implementation of services in accordance with current legislation and the organization's guidelines and criteria. Knowledge of social welfare services and the service system is considered an advantage. We operate throughout the Ostrobothnia region, so the position requires proficiency in Finnish and Swedish, a driver's license, and access to a private car. Eligibility requirement: Licensed social worker according to the Act on Social Care Professionals (817/2015, § 8). Good oral and satisfactory written skills in both national languages of the country. The selected candidate must present an extract from the criminal record as referred to in Section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act. Additionally, the selected candidate must have valid vaccination protection in accordance with Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act (1227/2016). A probationary period will be applied.
