Welcome to Day Care Perttu of Early Childhood Education Unit Himmeli-Perttu as an early childhood education social worker. Your task is primarily to act as an early childhood education social worker in a group of 3-5-year-old children, where in addition to you, an early childhood education teacher and two early childhood education childcare workers operate. We expect enthusiasm and competence for the task of an early childhood education social worker, a sensitive educational approach and commitment to work. Good teamwork skills are an advantage. As an early childhood education social worker, you plan, evaluate and implement early childhood education pedagogical activities and support the child's individual learning in accordance with the Helsinki early childhood education and pre-primary education plan, the early childhood education unit's action plan and the child's vasu together with the team and the work community. You build your child group's operational culture and learning environment. You support the child's social growth as a member of communities and society. You bring communal, societal and socio-pedagogical perspectives to pedagogical work and thus promote the realization of equality. Eligibility requirements: We require that you have at least a university of applied sciences degree in social and health care, which includes studies oriented towards early childhood education and social pedagogy of at least 60 ECTS credits, which can be specified by a government decree, or a social worker's degree supplemented by the mentioned studies (540/2018 27§). A recognition decision made by the National Agency for Education on the basis of foreign education for the position applied for also fulfills the eligibility requirement. In addition, we require good oral and written skills in the Finnish language. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children (504/2002). A report on respiratory tuberculosis for those working with children under school age is checked (Communicable Diseases Act § 55). When you start a permanent employment relationship as an early childhood education social worker with the City of Helsinki in 2026, we offer you an incentive bonus of 2000 euros. The bonus is paid only once to the same person. Further information can be obtained from the recruiting day care director. We consider experience in early childhood education work as an advantage.

Requirements
- University of Applied Sciences degree in Social and Health Care (including at least 60 ECTS in early childhood education and social pedagogy) OR a Social Worker's degree supplemented with these studies
- Good oral and written Finnish language skills
- Valid criminal record extract for working with children
- Respiratory tuberculosis clearance for working with children under school age
