A wage-subsidized position for Helsinki residents who are unemployed. Kontula Senior Center day program group Päivikki and Päivla; duties include daily living tasks such as preparing breakfast, serving meals, dishwashing, laundry, and helping clients with light assistance, plus engaging in conversations with clients. The role is day work, hours 08:00–16:00. Interviews start during the application period. We offer extensive training and development opportunities as well as housing possibilities via Auroranlinnan rental apartments with favorable terms for city employees. We support work-life balance with Epassi Flex benefits (including fitness, culture, commuting and wellbeing) up to 550 EUR per calendar year, with balance depending on tenure, plus meal allowance and a city bike; employees may also visit the city employees’ recreation island. Requirements: sufficient Finnish language skills, good teamwork and genuine interest in elderly care. Vaccination protection under Infectious Diseases Act and tuberculosis screening under 55 § are required. A background check under the Act on the Protection of Persons Working with the Elderly must be presented before starting. In addition: you must be unemployed Helsinkian resident and meet one of the following: 15–24 years, or 50 years or older, or not have completed upper secondary education or an equivalent foreign qualification, or eligible for integration plan, or not having worked in the past six months, or being unemployed with reduced chances due to disability or illness. The previous wage-subsidized contract with the City of Helsinki must have ended at least three years ago to reapply for wage subsidy. Start according to wage-subsidy decision, duration 7 months.
