We are looking for six care assistants for wage-subsidized employment at the Kontula Senior Center. Your work includes socializing with residents, guiding hobby activities, enabling outdoor activities, and escorting residents outside the senior center, for example to examinations and dental care. Your duties also include domestic tasks such as clothing care, waste management and kitchen tasks. The work also includes various assisting tasks, such as unloading and shelving goods deliveries. The work is two-shift work, including weekend work. The work does not include nursing care. We expect from you: - interest in working with elderly people - satisfactory oral and written skills in Finnish - good physical capacity and a brisk approach to things. Start of work according to the wage subsidy decision, duration 7 months. Eligibility condition: The language skill requirement is satisfactory oral and written skill in Finnish. The position requires vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis certificate according to Section 55. The position requires the presentation of a criminal record extract for those working with elderly people (Act on the Supervision of Social and Health Care 741/2023, Section 28). In addition, we require: You are an unemployed job seeker from Helsinki and meet one of the following conditions: - you are 15-24 years old - you have reached 50 years of age - you have not completed a matriculation examination, a degree referred to in the Act on Vocational Education, or a comparable foreign secondary education degree - you are entitled to an integration plan referred to in the Act on the Promotion of Integration - you have not been in gainful employment during the previous six months - as an unemployed job seeker, your chances of getting a suitable job have significantly decreased due to injury or illness. At least three years must have passed since the end of the previous wage-subsidized employment at the City of Helsinki before you can be employed again with a wage subsidy for the city.
