SUBSTITUTE MUSEUM TECHNICIAN FOR MIKKELI CITY MUSEUMS FROM 1.9. TO 31.12.2026 We are seeking a substitute museum technician for our small work community of 10 people. The duties of the museum technician include taking care of museum and exhibition technology, lighting, AV equipment, and museum security, as well as the installation of exhibitions. The museum technician is responsible for the storage, packing, and transport of art and object collections, as well as the procurement of materials. The position also includes the framing of artworks. The work requires AV expertise and up-to-date IT skills (including the presentation of video and media production in the museum). Eligibility requirements for the position are a vocational qualification as a museum technician, suitable education, or work experience in the museum field. The language requirement is fluent Finnish. Additionally, the work requires practical English language skills. Other language skills are an advantage. We expect the museum technician to have versatile experience in exhibition construction. Successful performance of the duties requires organizational skills, self-direction, teamwork skills, ability to cooperate, and good manual skills. A driver's license (B) is essential. We value the ability to cooperate, flexibility, good social skills, and fluent oral and written expression. Working hours are general working hours, 38 h 15 min per week.
