We are seeking a Ship Electrical Inspector (Electrical Inspector) for a permanent position to strengthen our growing inspection team. In this role, you will not only inspect individual systems—you will provide the customer with reliable information on project progress, identify deviations early, and ensure that demanding electrical and technical systems are implemented safely and in accordance with international standards. As a Ship Electrical Inspector, you will inspect the electrical and technical systems of vessels and ensure that the work is carried out according to standards, regulations, and customer requirements. You will monitor project progress, identify potential deviations and risk points, and document your findings in English-language reports. You will work in close cooperation with the customer's project organization, shipyard personnel, and SGS experts, providing the customer with up-to-date information on project progress. Inspection targets include, among others, electrical systems, main and auxiliary engines, control and automation systems, diesel-electric and HV systems, as well as technical entities related to hull and under-deck structures. What do we expect from you? We hope you have: - A Marine Electrical Engineer background (e.g., STCW A-III/6) - Approximately two years of experience in shipbuilding from new construction or renovation projects - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings - Understanding of HV and diesel-electric systems - Knowledge of maritime industry standards (e.g., SOLAS and IEC 60092) - Fluent skills in Finnish and English Additionally, we value certificates such as CompEx or ECS, as well as experience from demanding and heavily regulated operating environments, such as the energy, nuclear power, or aviation industries. Work Environment You will work in an international project organization in cooperation with SGS's inspection team, the customer's project organization, shipyard personnel, and international experts. Reporting is done in English, but Finnish is important in daily work. The primary place of work is Helsinki. The job includes travel to other sites as needed.
