The East Uusimaa wellbeing services county is looking for a PHYSICIAN passionate about mental health and substance abuse work. Start date September 1, 2026, or by agreement. The position is permanent at 50% working hours and is primarily located in adult substance abuse services. The duties include working at various service points in the Sipoo, Loviisa, and Askola regions. The work includes face-to-face and remote meetings as well as responding to consultations. The physician is responsible for the medical planning and monitoring of addiction treatment. Expertise, collaboration and interaction skills, and a positive attitude are emphasized in your work. The work is independent and requires excellent interaction and customer service skills. Close guidance is provided. The work is supported by regular working group meetings, good consultation opportunities, and work supervision. Eligibility requirements are a physician licensed in Finland and a special qualification in addiction medicine. Language requirements are a good command of one national language both orally and in writing, and a good oral command of the other national language. Strong work experience in opioid substitution therapy and substance abuse treatment is considered an advantage. In the absence of applicants meeting the eligibility requirements, the position may be filled on a fixed-term basis by a person who is a licensed physician in Finland and is completing a special qualification in addiction medicine. The terms of employment are determined in accordance with the Local Government Act (LS). Remuneration is according to the career step system. Working hours are 50%, i.e., 19.125 h/week. The probationary period is six months. The position requires vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis screening according to Section 55. The selection is conditional until the selected person has presented an occupational health care assessment of their ability to perform the duties of the job within one month of starting work.
