About the role

Metsä Board is seeking an Electrical and Automation Maintenance Technician for its Äänekoski mill for a permanent position. As a maintenance technician, you play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of the mill's production. You are responsible for ensuring that electrical and automation systems and production equipment operate reliably, safely, and efficiently as part of daily production. Your work consists mainly of troubleshooting as well as corrective and preventive maintenance. You actively participate in solving disturbance situations and identifying root causes, and develop equipment and operating methods to keep production availability at a high level. Additionally, you take care of work documentation and utilize systems in work planning and management. You work closely with production, mechanical maintenance, and other stakeholders, and influence the entire mill's performance through your actions. Cooperation skills, a holistic view, and a proactive working style are emphasized in the role. The position offers a versatile opportunity to develop your expertise in process industry electrical and automation technologies. Safety is at the center of the work, and we require commitment to safe working methods and their development. The work is a day job and the start is as soon as possible. You will have a skilled team and good opportunities to develop as an expert in your field and build a long-term career. We expect suitable education in the electrical or automation field and practical experience in industrial maintenance tasks. You have a good understanding of electrical and automation systems and the ability to analyze and solve various fault situations in a production environment. We especially value experience with Siemens logic, electrical drives, and the Honeywell PMD process automation system. Additionally, knowledge of process automation, field instrumentation, and fieldbuses support your success in the position. In terms of working style, you are a proactive, responsible, and active doer who takes on tasks and pushes them forward determinedly. You have good problem-solving skills and the ability to act in changing situations. You can work safely, efficiently, both independently and as part of a team, and communicate fluently with different stakeholders. You have a desire to develop your own expertise and participate in the continuous improvement of operations in the electrical and automation area.
