Social Worker

The wellbeing services county of South Savo (Eloisa) is seeking a social worker for a fixed-term position from 1.10.2026 to 30.9.2027 for social work within the police force. The official's workstation is located at the Savonlinna police station. Social work within the police is full-time work but belongs to the administrative entity of the social emergency services. The social worker's duties emphasize work against domestic violence, anchor activities, acute crisis work, duties related to child crime investigations, as well as client work with victims and perpetrators of crimes in close and multidisciplinary cooperation between various authorities. Collegial support is available from the social worker at the Mikkeli police station. Additionally, your work community includes the on-call social workers and social guides working in social emergency services, whose area of operation is the entire wellbeing services county. It is possible to work partially remotely. Eloisa offers a benefit for sports, culture, and wellbeing for employment relationships lasting over 60 days. We want you to feel comfortable and well with us. Interviews will be held at the Savonlinna police station on 27.8. and in Mikkeli on 28.8. The eligibility requirement is the qualification and legalization of a social worker according to Section 7 of the Act on Social Care Professionals (817/2015). In the absence of applicants meeting the eligibility requirements, the position may be filled temporarily for a maximum of one year by a person studying for the social work profession who has successfully completed the basic and advanced studies in social work and the related practical training. Performing the duties requires a valid driver's license. Work experience in violence-related work as well as social care client work with children and youth is considered an advantage. A personnel security clearance is required before starting work. We require sufficient oral and written skills in Finnish for the performance of the duties. The position also requires vaccination protection as required by Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a health certificate regarding respiratory tuberculosis according to Section 55. Before the selection is confirmed, the selected person must present a health certificate. Those working with children must present an acceptable criminal record extract in accordance with Section 3 of the Act on the Clearance of Criminal Records (504/2002) before starting work in service relationships exceeding 3 months.
