In the Lapland welfare region, the responsibility unit for child and adolescent psychiatry has two permanent physician posts located at clinics in Rovaniemi and Kemijärvi/Tornio. The unit forms a comprehensive specialist health care entity for Lapland, including clinics and wards at the Lapland Central Hospital and the Western Lapland Hospital’s child and adolescent psychiatry clinics in Kemijärvi and Tornio. The role emphasizes clinical patient care in the youth psychiatric clinic as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for the examination, treatment, and follow-up of your own patients. Depending on interest, you may also work in basic mental health services and family clinic work. Weekly hours are 38.25, and the position is day work from Monday to Friday. We offer flexible work arrangements, including partial remote work, and part-time work can also be agreed. If placed in Roveniemi, you may participate in the Lapland Central Hospital psychiatry on-call service (informal duty). Qualification requires the right to practice as a licensed physician in youth psychiatry. If a suitable candidate is not available, a physician specializing in youth psychiatry may be hired for a fixed term. Salary and terms follow the physician contract. In a public position, a 6-month trial period applies. Vaccination protection is required under the health and infectious disease law, and the selected candidate will need to present a police clearance before starting.
