We are seeking a practical nurse for a fixed-term position at the Helmi Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit. At our unit, clients’ functional ability is assessed comprehensively and in a multidisciplinary manner. During the period, clients are supported and helped in active everyday life, daily activities and managing their lives. The goal is for clients to return home. An assessment and rehabilitation period lasts about one month on average. There are 36 client places. The practical nurse’s work is varied. In addition to nursing care in clients’ everyday lives, you will administer medication and carry out various functional ability assessments. Cooperation with clients and their loved ones is part of every day. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team where your contribution is valued. You will have the opportunity to use your skills and learn more. Workdays vary, and resilience is needed. Teamwork and open communication are emphasised in our unit. We value a positive, client-oriented attitude to work and a genuine interest in working with older people. We hope you approach development positively and have the courage to share your ideas. Good interaction and cooperation skills are required. Your spoken and written Finnish must be good, because oral and written communication play an important role in the unit’s daily work. Alongside practical nurses, our team includes registered nurses, care assistants, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, an occupational therapist, an activities coordinator, a gerontologist, an assistant head nurse and a unit manager. The Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit is located in health centre premises in Kerava, with good transport connections. Free parking is available for employees. Eligibility requirement: Practical nurse qualification and eligibility under section 3 of Act 817/2015 or section 5 of Act 559/1994, with the right to use the applicable protected occupational title. Number of positions: 1. Working time details: Period-based work with a shift-work nature. Required clearances and permits: The selected person must provide a criminal record extract under section 28 of the Act on the Supervision of Social Welfare and Health Care (741/2023) for work with older people and people with disabilities. Vaccination protection under section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis investigation under section 55 are required. The selected person’s credit history will be checked. Position-specific salary: €2,677.75 per month, plus a possible supplement based on previous work experience.
