Job Description
The work of a guidance counselor emphasizes advising students on their individual study paths, supporting the development of personal study plans (HOKS), and ensuring graduation and future placement. The role includes coordinating the tutor activities at the service point and collaborating with and developing cooperation with basic education schools. Additionally, the work may involve working in a Encounter Environment, in a referral team, and/or guiding students in dual degree programs. Eligible candidates are those who have the qualification of a guidance counselor according to Regulation A986/1998, Chapter V, Section 15, Paragraph 1 (qualified guidance counselors for vocational education) and those with the qualification according to Regulation A986/1998, Chapter V, Section 15, Paragraph 2. Successful performance in the guidance counselor role requires broad knowledge of the vocational education sector, experience in vocational guidance, and a student-centered approach. Experience working with students of different ages, cultural sensitivity in guidance work, and the ability to guide students in English are also expected. We value knowledge of further education opportunities and labor market requirements, networking skills, and the ability and willingness to work as part of various teams and networks. Additionally, the ability to work independently and proactively, along with excellent cooperation and interaction skills, is required. We appreciate a developmental and open working attitude. The role also requires good IT skills, familiarity with remote guidance methods, and proficiency in programs such as Wilma. The work may involve traveling between different service points. The employment relationship is subject to a trial period. The selected candidate must present a criminal background check according to Act 504/2002.
