About the role

At Swappie, we are not just fixing phones; we are fixing the way the world consumes electronics. We are now looking for a Production Engineer, Tallinn to play a crucial role in building the most efficient, high-quality refurbishment process in the world. You will report to the Continuous Improvement Lead and act as the bridge between data, strategy, and the factory floor. Your mission is simple but ambitious: Make our production the industry benchmark. This is not a role for someone who wants to maintain the status quo. We are looking for a problem solver who can look at a production line, identify the bottlenecks, design a solution (whether it’s a new layout, a new tool, or a process change), and convince the team to adopt it. What you will be doing: - Optimizing the flow: You will take ownership of production layouts and process flows to ensure lead times are fast and waste is minimized. - Driving continuous improvement: You will lead development initiatives from the drawing board to the factory floor, applying Lean/Six Sigma principles to real-world challenges. - Crunching the data: You will analyze production metrics (Quality, Cost, Time) to identify high-impact opportunities for automation or process redesign. - Managing change: You won’t just design processes; you will implement them. You will work closely with the operations team to ensure changes are understood, adopted, and celebrated. - Innovating: You will constantly scout for better tooling and new technologies to keep us ahead of the curve. Who we are looking for: - The background: Experience in a production development, ideally within (electronics) manufacturing. You have a degree in Engineering or Business (BSc or MSc, related to production development). - The skillset: Strong grasp of Lean Six Sigma or TQM principles, process development, and troubleshooting. You know how to set up a line: to take an idea from concept to pilot to full scale. - The mindset: You are structured but curious. You enjoy navigating the unknown and don’t need a handbook to find a solution. - Tech stack: You are comfortable with Excel and data analysis. (Bonus points if you have CAD or prototyping skills!) - The communicator: You have strong interpersonal skills. You can sell an idea to a production manager just as well as you can explain a new workflow to an operator. - The languages: You are fluent in English. (Fluency in Estonian is a big plus, as our factory hub relies on local Estonian partners for custom tooling. If you speak the language, you can move faster and build better relationships with these vendors.). - Bonus points for automation experience: If you have successfully transitioned a manual line to an automated one, we want to talk to you. Why join Swappie? - The blank canvas: We have the resources to build world-class infrastructure. You get to decide how to spend it to achieve the goal. - Growth: You will truly get to take ownership, innovate and define new ways of making our repair operations even smoother and effective. You get to work with an experienced operations team and extended set of stakeholders in an international business. In this position, you will be able to learn and grow with us. - Impact: Your work directly affects our profitability and our ability to save e-waste. - Culture: A supportive, low-hierarchy environment where you can be your true self and your ideas are heard. Our strength as a company comes from the diverse group of people we're proud to employ. Whoever you are – you're welcome at Swappie! Practicalities - Location: This role is based in Tallinn with a hybrid working model. We value close on-site collaboration, and for this position we expect you to work around 3 days per week on-site, with flexibility to work remotely when it makes sense. - Start date: As soon as possible, negotiable. - Contract: Full-time and permanent. - Compensation: 3200-3800€ / month (start salary range for this role) + option package - Visa Requirements: Eligibility requires a valid, long-term work visa for full-time employment in Estonia. - Application Deadline: Please submit your application by 9.8.2026.
