We are seeking an expert in child welfare and substance abuse work for a permanent position as a Ward Manager. The ideal candidate has strong cooperation and interaction skills and is enthusiastic about leading, developing, and supporting the daily operations of a multidisciplinary work community. The Päiväperho Family Support Center is located in Tampere. Family Support Center Päiväperho specializes in substance abuse and addiction issues, providing support for families suffering from these problems as well as for pregnant women. The core of the operations is the well-being of the entire family and supporting the safe growth and development of the child. Päiväperho offers both low-threshold services and 24-hour inpatient care according to individual needs. Work at Päiväperho is family-centered, confidential, and multidisciplinary, valuing genuine encounters. As the Ward Manager, you are responsible for the daily management of the unit and ensuring the smoothness of everyday operations. In your role, you act as the immediate supervisor and support the staff in demanding and meaningful work. Eligibility requirements include a higher education degree in healthcare suitable for the position and legal authorization in Finland in accordance with the Act on Health Care Professionals. Additionally, we require knowledge of child welfare and substance abuse work, the leadership skills required for the position, a valid class B driver's license, and a medication administration permit. Experience in psychiatric nursing is considered an advantage. Success in the position is supported by good interaction, cooperation, and negotiation skills, organizational and stress-management abilities, and a responsible and decisive approach to work. Permanent employment begins on October 1, 2026, or by agreement. The probationary period is six months. The working time format is general working hours. Before accepting the position, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act.
