About the role

We are looking for a Service Supervisor for a permanent full-time position in the security screening and cleaning team at Ivalo Airport! Ivalo Airport is the northernmost airport in the EU, with tens of thousands of travelers passing through annually, especially during the winter season when Saariselkä's slopes, tundra landscapes, and the Northern Lights attract visitors from across Europe. The field is located in the peace of Lapland, but during the peak season, its rhythm is anything but slow. As a Supervisor, you will ensure that security screening and cleaning service production is efficient, high-quality, and safe. You are willing to take responsibility and independent decision-making comes naturally to you. In the service business, everything starts with people, and it is your responsibility to ensure that staff are well, motivated, and that working conditions are in order. To succeed, you must have excellent interaction skills: you enjoy being with staff, communicate fluently in various situations, and handle challenging situations fairly but firmly. Customer orientation is a priority for you, and you regularly participate in operational activities yourself. Security screening experience and certifications are considered an advantage. This is shift work, which requires readiness to work early mornings and late evenings. In this role, you report to the Station Manager. Service Supervisor's duties: - Managing and developing security screening and cleaning operations - Shift planning - Discussions with staff (e.g., well-being discussions, probation, and Travel Plan discussions) - Recruitment of security screeners and cleaners - Implementing instructions for staff - Cooperation with stakeholders - Staff and customer meetings - Reporting and daily communication We expect from you: - A desire to develop as a supervisor in the service business - Excellent people management skills and good interaction skills - Self-management skills - Good ability to work under pressure - Good written and oral skills in Finnish and English - Good IT skills The Act on the Protection of Privacy in Working Life applies to this position. The selected candidate is required to pass a drug test as part of the pre-employment check. Work is irregular shift work, and you must be able to travel to the airport at all times of the day. There is limited public transport to Ivalo Airport, so a private car or other vehicle is practically essential for commuting to the workplace. As a supervisor, you will enter a challenging and interesting role developing both yourself and the airport operations that enable an important tourism industry for Northern Finland. Workdays vary in an international operating environment where no two days are the same. You will be supported by a close-knit community of aviation experts where we encourage each other and work together for our customers' best travel experience. You will succeed in the role if you are a team player who is not deterred by a dynamic working environment. You enjoy working with people and have excellent skills in active and coaching leadership. A hectic working environment provides a great opportunity to develop your own ability to act in various tasks efficiently, logically, and accurately. Remuneration follows the Collective Agreement for Aviation Personnel. Difficulty class 6: starting from €2,979/month + additions according to the collective agreement, which for a full-time employee average €350 - €600 / month depending on shifts. If you are solution-oriented and have a positive attitude toward your own work and leadership, you may be the person we are looking for! Interested? Fill out the electronic application form by August 12, 2026. Interviews for the position will be held during August.
