We are looking for an Environmental Engineer for data center projects in the Vaasa region to be responsible for the coordination, monitoring, and documentation of site environmental issues and to support the sustainable implementation of projects. What kind of role and team would you be joining? As an Environmental Engineer, you will act as support for the site's environmental expert and participate in the coordination, monitoring, and documentation of environmental issues. Together with the project team, you will ensure that construction proceeds in accordance with environmental requirements, permit conditions, and project goals. In your position, you will be responsible for, among other things: - Coordination, monitoring, and development of site environmental issues. - Ensuring the implementation of environmental permits, authority requirements, and project-specific environmental obligations. - Performing site environmental inspections and rounds, as well as documenting and reporting observations. - Identifying environmental risks arising on site and coordinating corrective actions. - Maintaining environmental documentation, reporting, and compiling delivery materials. - Cooperation with site personnel and subcontractors to develop environmental practices. - Participating in the continuous development of site safety, environmental, and quality practices. In this position, you can act either in a more field-oriented role, where daily presence on site, inspections, and environmental monitoring are central, or in a documentation-focused role, where you are responsible for reporting, authority materials, monitoring, and the maintenance of environmental systems. In practice, the position includes both aspects, and the role can be emphasized according to your strengths. The employment is permanent and you will work mainly at our data center projects in Vaasa. The position requires a willingness to travel and active movement between sites. How will you succeed best in the position? We build Destia's success on corporate culture and people, and therefore we primarily expect that you want to commit to our shared values: honestly, together, renewing and succeeding. The most important thing is a proactive, solution-oriented, and cooperative approach and a desire to develop site environmental issues in a practical manner. We value a field-oriented attitude, but also the ability to produce high-quality documentation and ensure that environmental matters are under control throughout the project.
