Munhygienist

At Turku University Hospital (TYKS) Cancer Clinic and Head Center, in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases, a position of dental hygienist is open. Your tasks: you will work in a diverse and expert environment with multidisciplinary top-team colleagues, promoting patients’ overall oral health, supporting self-care, and providing preventive and corrective care. The role includes working as the dentist’s partner across all specialties at our clinic: oral and maxillofacial surgery, clinical dentistry, and orthodontics. The position also involves independent reception work, including care for patients with oral cancer, head-and-neck pain patients, sleep apnea patients, and follow-up and guidance for conservatively treated fracture patients. In addition to reception duties, you will apply your expertise in oral health education and guidance and actively participate in evaluating and developing patient care. You will be part of a multidisciplinary care team where cooperation and knowledge sharing are central. The work is fast-paced and varied, with daily development opportunities. In the Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases Clinic your skills are valued and supported. The unit collaborates closely with the ENT and Oncology clinics. The work is mainly outpatient daytime work, with night on-call duty. Your workstation is at Majakkasairaala, in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases on the 7th floor. What we expect: the qualifications include licensure as a dental hygienist under the Health Care Professionals Act (559/1994). Additionally: experience in oral health care; experience in independent reception work; good collaboration and communication skills; flexibility to work in a multidisciplinary environment; interest in development and learning new things. Desirable: experience in treating patients with oral and maxillofacial diseases in specialized care. Good Finnish language skills are required; Swedish and English are considered assets.
