Korsnäs municipality has been granted continued project funding from the Regional State Administrative Agency and is therefore seeking someone to work part-time (50%) as a Youth Worker within basic education (grades 1-6). The project employment (19.13 h/week) begins on 31.8.2026 or by agreement and ends on 18.12.2026. The employment may potentially be combined with other ongoing projects. As a youth worker, you will act as a neutral and secure adult and contribute to the students' well-being. You will provide support both during breaks and in various study situations. Your task is to motivate, encourage, and strengthen students' self-esteem. Your duties also include working to lower the threshold for participating in youth activities during leisure time. You will collaborate primarily with students, teachers, other school staff, and student welfare personnel. You will also work closely with the welfare coordinator, the education manager, and student councils. We are looking for someone with experience and knowledge in mental health and experience working with children and young people. You can build trust and work preventatively, and you have the ability to motivate and support students. As a youth worker, you play an important role in students' well-being throughout the school day. You have a vocational qualification in pedagogical activity and guidance: competence area for guidance, or a suitable basic degree in the social and health care sector, or other suitable vocational training. Access to a private car is necessary as you need to be able to travel to all three of the municipality's schools. A probationary period of 2 months applies. A criminal record extract (504/2002) should be presented before the employment begins. Salary according to AKTA, 50% of 2446.63 € (2VAP60A1).
