About the role

The Suomen University Facilities Services invites applications for a permanent full-time position at Viikki Campus as a customer-service oriented and proactive multiservice worker, combining cleaning and front-desk responsibilities. The role includes high-quality routine cleaning, user services and supporting daily building operations. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and actively contribute to developing our services. About 60% of duties involve cleaning and 40% front-desk tasks, with daily campus movement and occasional moving of furniture and goods, requiring good physical condition. Shifts are primarily on weekdays from 6:00 to 18:00. Responsibilities include: cleaning services, maintenance and basic cleaning tasks in agreed service areas; cleaning of offices, teaching, meeting and general areas; adherence to hygiene and cleanliness requirements; safe use of cleaning machines and tools; monitoring consumables and replenishment; noting conditions of the premises and reporting deviations; maintaining cleanliness, safety and comfort in the work area; quality assurance in own area. Front desk duties include customer service, guidance and directions for facility users and visitors; access control, keys and space usage tasks; mail and parcel services; preparation of meeting and event spaces and furniture arrangements; user support for AV equipment and basic operation of teaching spaces; handling service requests; monitoring daily safety and functionality of the facility; cooperation with clients, partners and other service providers. Ideal candidates enjoy customer service and working with people, can organise their work independently, understand the importance of a clean and safe work environment, are cooperative and able to work as part of a team, want to develop their skills and participate in process improvements, and can utilise modern tools, machines and digital systems. We expect: suitable training or experience in cleaning, front desk, facilities or customer service; customer-service oriented approach; good communication and teamwork skills; ability to work independently and make decisions within own area; fluent Finnish and English; Swedish is an advantage; basic IT skills and willingness to use various required systems; good physical fitness; careful and quality-focused approach; willingness to adapt to different tasks and workstations. Desirable: qualifications in facility or janitorial services; experience in front-desk or facilities tasks; experience with AV equipment; knowledge of security or access-control systems.
