Project Engineer

We are seeking a project engineer to support demanding industrial and data center projects for Balanus Oy. Balanus Oy, founded in 1989, is a Finnish family company specialized in the manufacture, installation and maintenance of industrial and building services piping. In this role you will act as the technical expert for projects and ensure that design, procurement, production and project management have up-to-date information for execution. The role suits someone who enjoys resolving technical complexities and wants to understand how individual design solutions, equipment selections and technical requirements affect the overall project. The job emphasizes technical coordination and project support. You will work mainly in the office supporting the project organization, with occasional site visits to address technical matters on-site. As project engineer you will compile initial technical data, identify missing information and coordinate technical aspects between different project parties. Your responsibilities include reviewing project technical data and drawings, interpreting P&ID diagrams and other technical drawings, confirming technical requirements for pipelines, equipment and components, identifying technical deficiencies and conflicts, communicating with customers, designers and equipment suppliers on technical questions, coordinating and tracking technical solutions through project phases, supporting procurement in tenders and technical comparisons, assisting on-site and in production with technical questions, maintaining project documentation, and collaborating with project management, design, procurement and production.
