Lehtikuusi School is seeking a new resource teacher for preparatory education in basic education, specifically for the additional VALO education. We are looking for a language-aware pedagogy expert who can have a background as either a Finnish language teacher, a classroom teacher, or a special education teacher. The teacher's hours will be determined based on the selected candidate's educational background. The role of the additional VALO teacher includes teaching hours as well as school- and city-level development work in language-aware pedagogy. The teacher coordinates the educational arrangements for students receiving preparatory education, participates in our school's language awareness team, and develops school structures from the language learners' perspective. VALO education is provided during regular lessons as simultaneous or co-teaching, as additional lessons, in smaller groups, or as individual guidance. Lehtikuusi Comprehensive School (grades 1-9) is located in Hakunila, near excellent sports and nature areas. Our school has 930 students, 86 teachers, 11 teaching assistants, three multilingual guides, good student welfare resources, two school social workers, and a school counselor.
