Class Teacher

The City of Vantaa is seeking a Class Teacher to serve as a music class teacher at Martinlaakso School. Martinlaakso School is a comprehensive school for grades 1-9 with approximately 1,000 students and 130 staff members. The school operates in a modern building with up-to-date teaching equipment and a diverse environment that supports learning and movement. The school aims to be pedagogically unified, where class teaching and subject teaching are closely integrated to provide students with a seamless educational path. The school follows the ProKoulu operating model, which emphasizes common goals and methods for guiding student behavior through positive feedback. The role requires a commitment to this model. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing differentiated instruction for learners of various levels, utilizing diverse teaching methods, and showing multicultural sensitivity to support students from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, including S2 (Finnish as a second language) support. The ideal candidate should have strong interaction and collaboration skills to build trusting relationships with students and guardians and be an active team player. The role involves holistic support for student well-being and a flexible, solution-oriented approach to changing situations.
