Intensive Care Float Nurse, Children’s and Adolescents’ Diseases

Interested in nursing work in the Intensive Care Area of the Children’s and Adolescents’ Diseases unit? The area treats patients from several specialties, from newborns to young adults. We have national responsibility for pediatric cardiac surgery and organ transplants and operate as a pediatric ECMO center. We are seeking a nurse for a fixed-term position in the internal substitute unit (SISSI) starting on 21 December 2026 or by agreement. The intensive-care SISSI rotation areas are the pediatric intensive care ward, pediatric operating room and day surgery ward at the New Children’s Hospital; the Saari neonatal intensive care ward at the Women’s Hospital; and neonatal ward 1B-C at Jorvi. What does a SISSI nurse do? As a SISSI nurse, you work in at least two areas of expertise and have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in any unit in the intensive care area. Orientation and development You will receive an individually tailored orientation program with teaching nurses. The selected candidate must present the criminal-record extract required for working with children. The language requirement is good spoken and written Finnish and satisfactory spoken and written Swedish, or good spoken and written Swedish and satisfactory spoken and written Finnish. Employees working in customer and patient areas must have the vaccination protection required under the Communicable Diseases Act. Employees working in healthcare units must provide a health assessment concerning pulmonary tuberculosis.
