Järvenpää Library is part of the Central Uusimaa Kirkes library consortium and offers versatile library services for those hungry for culture, information, and experiences. We are looking for a librarian for the children's and youth team for a permanent employment contract starting September 1, 2026, or by agreement. The librarian is responsible for the library's youth department and its operations, such as cooperation with lower secondary schools and the book box service. The role also includes coordinating events for the library's children' and youth department. Additionally, the librarian's duties include versatile customer service primarily in the children's and youth department, logistical tasks, and processing of volumes. There is also the possibility to include other responsibilities based on your own strengths and interests. Why join us in Järvenpää? Managing the position requires an independent and active work approach, versatile everyday organizational skills, customer-centricity, as well as enthusiasm and the ability to engage, especially when working with young people. Good interaction and community skills, as well as an understanding of events and content that interest different age groups, are important in the work. Eligibility requirements The eligibility requirement for the position is a suitable higher education degree, which includes or is supplemented by library and information science studies of at least 60 ECTS credits (35 study weeks), or at least a vocational qualification in the library field. Original study and work certificates are to be presented during a possible interview. Terms of employment - Employment is permanent starting September 1, 2026 - Collective agreement KVTES - Work includes evening and Saturday shifts - The position-specific salary is €2,991.84/month.
