About the role

Lappeenranta City is advertising temporary positions for an early childhood teacher in the Myllymäki and Sammontalo day care centers in the city’s early childhood education. The substitutions are until 6.6.2027. The job involves 38.25 hours per week. In your role you will be responsible for the pedagogical activities of the child group, promoting the child’s holistic wellbeing, growth, development and learning in cooperation with your work community and families. In Lappeenranta all day care groups with more than three-year-old children have two early childhood teachers. Each day care center also has a special education teacher supporting the work of the early childhood educators. There is also a multidisciplinary early childhood education team available when needed. Each day care center director has a deputy director as a work partner. We hope you have experience from the position, value a participatory, communal and developmental approach to work, and possess good interaction skills. The staff has access to free continuous education also locally. In coming years we will invest particularly in developing teamwork. We also care for staff wellbeing by improving working conditions and providing orientation and, if necessary, supervision. Eligibility requirements are defined by the Early Childhood Education Act 540/2018. Graduates about to complete the degree can also be considered. Tasks start on 1 September 2026 or by agreement. The positions are subject to a probationary period. Applications should be submitted electronically at www.kuntarekry.fi. The application deadline is 24 August 2026 at 15:00.
