Over the centuries, our farm has remained in the same family and evolved into a modern and versatile agricultural company. Today, our core operations are poultry production, crop cultivation, forestry, and agricultural machinery trade. Välikosken Tila is looking for an **ON-CALL ANIMAL CARETAKER** for a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension. **What does the job involve?** Your work focuses on the daily care of poultry, monitoring welfare, and ensuring the smoothness of production. Your duties also include, for example, maintaining and updating self-monitoring plans and practical tasks related to production development. We value an employee who wants to develop operating methods, not just maintain them. Work proceeds according to the rhythm of poultry production. During the year, about seven batches of birds are raised, between which production facilities are washed, disinfected, and prepared for the next batch. The variation between rearing periods and production breaks brings versatility and different work phases throughout the year. The position includes on-call responsibility shared with another employee. During an on-call shift, the workday is divided into two parts when birds are on the farm. Normal work tasks are performed during the day, and a final check is made in the evening to ensure everything is in order. During on-call shifts, you must be able to react quickly to potential alarms, so living within a reasonable distance of the farm is essential. In addition to poultry production, you will participate in other practical farm tasks as needed. **What do we hope for from you?** Previous experience in poultry production is not essential, but experience working with production animals will help you get started quickly. We especially value practical agricultural expertise, a responsible work ethic, and an understanding of what animal welfare and food production require in daily life.
