Position: Resident Engineer/Project Planning Engineer Location: Brandenburg, Berlin Contract Type: Freelance Contract Length: 12-month (Possibility of Extension) Start date: ASAP (latest 29th June) As a Resident Engineer / Project Planning Engineer, you will take on on-site technical responsibility for the construction and commissioning of medium-voltage plants (1–36 kV), substations and cable transmission systems in Germany. They are the central interface between the client, general contractor and specialist trades – from the civil engineering phase to acceptance by the grid operator. Your success is measured by the on-time and on-budget project management, the complete technical documentation and compliance with all relevant standards (DIN VDE 0101, DIN EN 50522, DGUV V3, TAB of the distribution system operators). In this role, you will: Technical construction supervision of MV switchgear (air- and SF₆-insulated), transformers (10/0.4 kV, 20/0.4 kV), earthing systems as well as protection and control technology Supervision of civil engineering work for MV cable trays: trench excavation, sand bedding, pipe assemblies (empty conduits, cable protection pipes), route marking and covering according to VDE 0276; Control of cable pulling work, joint and end closure assembly as well as bending radius compliance according to manufacturer specifications Accompaniment of factory acceptance tests (FAT) and on-site acceptance tests (SAT) for control panels, protection relays and measurement technology; Coordination with the responsible network operator as well as coordination with authorities and line owners for crossing structures (press drilling, HDD) Monitoring of the commissioning sequence (primary tests, protection tests, VLF cable test, partial discharge measurement) as well as control of the earthing system according to DIN EN 50522 and lightning protection according to DIN EN 62305; Preparation of daily construction reports, defect reports and as-built documentation Creation and maintenance of project and schedule plans (incl. milestone tracking) as well as technical reports and progress reports to the client HOW TO SUCCEED: Ensure project execution on time and on budget – at least 95% compliance with milestones Development and maintenance of complete technical documentation for all construction and planning phases Close cooperation with the client as well as proactive communication in the event of deviations or risks Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, regulations and HSE requirements Coordination and monitoring of subcontractors and suppliers for quality assurance Conducting regular site inspections and preparing meaningful progress reports Identification and management of project risks and development of appropriate countermeasures Support in billing and supplement processing in close coordination with project controlling YOUR PROFILE: Completed studies – electrical engineering, energy technology, civil engineering or a comparable technical course of study Several years of professional experience – At least 3-5 years in the construction and commissioning of MV substations and/or MV cable infrastructure in Germany Project management skills – experience with NEC or FIDIC contracts as well as common PM methodologies (e.g. APM, Prince2) Planning software – Safe handling of Primavera P6, MS Project or comparable programs Technical understanding – Sound knowledge of relevant standards: DIN VDE 0101, DIN EN 50522, VDE 0276, IEC 62271, DGUV V3, TAB of the distribution system operators Strong communication skills – Fluent in German and good written and spoken English Willingness to travel – Regular presence on construction sites in Germany and, if necessary, the UK Advantageous – knowledge of BIM methods as well as experience with public clients

- Knowledge of PM methodologies such as APM or Prince2
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project or comparable software
- Knowledge of standards: DIN VDE 0101, DIN EN 50522, VDE 0276, IEC 62271, DGUV V3, and distribution system operator TAB
- Fluent German
- Good written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel to sites in Germany and the UK
