Funeral Home Employee - Hautaustoimisto Havu - Järvenpää, Finland

We are seeking a long-term funeral arranger / headstone salesperson for our Järvenpää office (Helsingintie 13, in Järvenpää city center, 2 min from the train station. Parking available). Working hours at the funeral home and headstone business are weekdays 9:00 - 16:30. Hautaustoimisto Havu is a fourth-generation family business with locations in Helsinki (Töölö, Malmi, Munkkiniemi) and Järvenpää. We provide comprehensive funeral arrangement services for families in the Helsinki metropolitan area and Central Uusimaa: Järvenpää, Kerava, Tuusula, Hyvinkää, Mäntsälä, and Nurmijärvi. Your duties include arranging funerals from start to finish together with the bereaved: client meetings at the office, by phone, and remotely; assisting in the selection of coffins, urns, flowers, headstones, and other products and services; arranging blessing and memorial services; communicating with parishes, crematoriums, and cemetery offices; preparing quotes, managing accounts receivable, and daily office tasks. The employee must be proficient in using a computer: sending emails, filling out PDF files, preparing invoices, and using our system. The work is independent customer service where you will encounter grieving families – the most important thing is an empathetic, calm, and thorough approach to work. We value previous experience in customer service, good interaction and organizational skills, and excellent Finnish language skills. Previous experience in the funeral industry is not required – we provide training for the role. Orientation for the job would begin in August.
