Personlig assistent

Your role As a personal assistant, you will support a person with a disability in their everyday life, both at home and outside the home. You will assist with daily activities, work or studies, leisure activities, interaction, and social participation. The work is carried out according to the client's own wishes and guidance, respecting their right to self-determination. The goal of your work is to enable the client to have equal opportunities to live a life of their own choosing, even when they need the help of another person. The work is independent and mobile, and at the same time, you are part of a developing entity: you will work in a newly established unit, where you can participate in building and developing operations from the ground up. You will primarily operate in the client's own home and immediate environment in Turku and neighboring municipalities. You will succeed in the job if you can act flexibly in different situations, adapt to changing everyday needs, and resolve situations independently. We value good interaction skills as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. In this role, you need good oral and written Finnish language skills. There are no educational requirements for the role of personal assistant; a positive attitude and reliability are key. In Varha's own assistant operations, all assistants receive comprehensive orientation training, so individuals without previous work experience in the field can also apply. Previous experience as a personal assistant, working with people with disabilities, and knowledge of assistive devices and alternative communication methods are considered an advantage. Interested?
