Specialist in Plastic Surgery

The South Savo Wellbeing Services County Eloisa is seeking a Specialist in Plastic Surgery for a permanent official position in the surgery unit starting October 1, 2026, or by agreement. Our wellbeing services county has two hospital sites. Mikkeli Central Hospital is a Level II hospital providing 24/7 emergency services, where soft tissue and orthopedic surgical back-up duties are separated. The primary location for the plastic surgery position is Mikkeli, but work is also partially performed in Savonlinna. Our units provide diverse anesthesia and surgical services. Surgeries range from day surgery procedures to emergency operations. Other surgical specialty services include urology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, vascular surgery, general surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. The plastic surgeon's areas of responsibility include breast cancer surgery, skin cancer surgery, wound surgery, and reconstructive plastic surgery. Specialist, 10 years since specialist degree: €8,867.13/month - €9,269.63/month Specialist, less than 10 years since specialist degree: €8,464.63/month Personal and local agreement bonuses are added to the position-specific salary. Eligibility requirements for the position are the legalization or permit to act in the duties of a physician as stipulated in the Act on Health Care Professionals 559/94, as well as qualification as a specialist in plastic surgery. Sufficient oral and written proficiency in Finnish is also required for the performance of the duties. Membership in the Finnish Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is valued. The position requires vaccination protection as required by Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a health certificate regarding pulmonary tuberculosis according to Section 55. Before the selection is confirmed, the selected candidate must present a health certificate. A six (6) month probationary period applies to the employment relationship.
