Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a heavy equipment mechanic / standby supervisor for permanent employment at Suomen Rakennuskone Oy’s Vantaa site. Suomen Rakennuskone Oy (SR-O) was founded in 1992. Our core business is providing customer-oriented total solutions for earthmoving, industry and mining companies, including sales, service, parts and equipment supplies. SR-O is part of the Sumitomo Corporation multi-network. Your role involves performing maintenance and repair work on heavy machinery and construction equipment, supporting and substituting for site supervision as needed, and combining hands-on work with increased responsibility. Duties include heavy equipment maintenance, repair and installation, diagnostics and solving complex technical problems, maintenance and repair of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems, providing technical support to other mechanics, assisting planning and coordination of work, acting as standby supervisor when required, and ensuring safe, efficient and quality work. Work takes place both at the Vantaa workshop and at customer sites. The Vantaa site has a tight team and is being modernised for a more comfortable working environment. What we require: suitable technical training (e.g., heavy vehicle/mechanic/engineer), strong experience in maintenance and repair of heavy machinery and construction equipment, excellent technical skills and ability to solve challenging faults, experience with hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems, independent and proactive work style, interest in supervisory tasks and willingness to take responsibility for smooth operations, ability to guide and support other team members, good communication and collaboration skills and customer‑oriented work approach, good Finnish language skills and ability to use English manufacturer documentation, and a B driving licence (C driving licence is an advantage).
