Wood Products Surface Treatment Operator

Our customer company operates in the wood industry and manufactures various wood products. The work environment combines machine-based production with a range of woodworking tasks. The position is well suited to someone who wants to learn a new occupation through practical work and develop in the role over the long term. We are now looking for someone to carry out surface treatment of wood products in Kauhajoki. THE DUTIES INCLUDE The work focuses on operating and monitoring the surface treatment line. You do not need to have extensive previous experience, as you will be trained for the role and your skills will develop through the work. In addition to surface treatment, the work includes other wood-industry duties, such as assembling products, woodworking and CNC machining. The weeks therefore do not consist solely of repeating the same work stage; duties vary according to production needs. Learning surface treatment takes time, and familiarisation with the role may take as long as 1–2 years. The work suits someone who wants to commit to a long-term employment relationship and develop their professional skills step by step. WHAT WE EXPECT The most important things are a good attitude, a careful approach to work and a willingness to learn new things. Previous experience in surface treatment or the wood industry is an advantage but not essential. Relevant education is also considered a plus. The work requires some physical fitness, as lacquer containers, for example, can weigh around 30–40 kg. You do not need to have perfect Finnish, as long as you can manage at work and understand instructions. WE OFFER We offer long-term employment where you can learn a new occupation and build your skills through practical work. The work is done on a single shift. Starting pay is approximately €13 per hour, and pay increases as your skills develop. As your skills progress, the pay level is approximately €15 per hour.
