Early Years Teacher

Porvoon kaupungin varhaiskasvatuspalvelut is hiring a fixed-term Early Years Teacher for the period 15 September 2026 to 31 May 2027. Primary start at Puistopäiväkoti’s preschool group. In Puistopäiväkoti, collaboration with families is important. Our location is central and we frequently go outdoors, with easy access on foot to forests and Taidehalli; Old Town is also within walking distance. As an Early Years Teacher you will be responsible for the group’s teaching, upbringing and care, and participate in developing the pedagogical approach of the entire unit. Together with your team you will plan, implement, assess and develop the group’s activities. You will work with the social welfare professional to cooperate with guardians and support children’s participation in the group activities. The role requires strong pedagogical skills, a sensitive and respectful approach to children and guardians, teamwork skills, the ability to plan, organise and evaluate your own and the team’s work, and readiness for team leadership and smooth coordination. We value good collaboration and interaction skills, functional workplace skills, flexible work style, enthusiasm to develop activities with the team, and digital skills that support planning, documentation and communication.
