Practical Nurse and Instructor Substitutes

Join our team! We are looking for new colleagues for practical nurse and instructor substitute positions in different parts of North Savo. You can work in varied roles, for example in residential services for older people, home care, disability services, primary health care and specialised medical care. Substitutions are available for different lengths of time and in different work environments. Examples of currently open assignments: Iisalmi: Practical nurse, Iisalmi discharge and assessment unit, until 31 December 2026. Joroinen: Practical nurse, Joroinen home care, 1 October 2026–30 April 2027; two family-leave substitute positions as instructor at Kirkkopuisto residential unit, disability services, starting 4 November 2026 and 9 November 2026. Juankoski: Two practical nurse substitutions in Juankoski home care, 7 October 2026–30 September 2027. The work is mainly night work and the work area includes Kaavi, Juankoski and Tuusniemi. Karttula: Practical nurse, Karttula home care. Kiuruvesi: Practical nurse at Hoitokoti Veikkola, 1 October–8 November 2026; practical nurse, Kiuruvesi home care. Kuopio: A rotating dental nurse at Savotalo, family-leave substitution from October 2026 to 14 September 2027; practical nurse positions in Puijonlaakso home care, the resource pool, Satama home care, Tori home care, Levänen service centre short-term care unit, Kuopio discharge and assessment unit, Levänen home care, Päiväranta home care, Pyörö home care, Alava home care, Haapaniemi home care, Liito-orava older people’s residential services and the respiratory paralysis unit; a practical nurse with casting skills in the musculoskeletal surgery ward at KYS; and instructor roles in Peippola 24-hour short-term care for children and young people under 18, and Päivänkierto residential unit, both in disability services. Other listed locations are Lapinlahti, Leppävirta, Pielavesi, Siilinjärvi, Suonenjoki, Tervo and Vieremä, with practical nurse or instructor assignments in home care, residential services and group homes. A carefully completed application helps us take your skills and preferences into account for current and future assignments. You may apply if you have a vocational qualification in social and health care or another equivalent earlier qualification, and are registered in the professional register maintained by the Finnish Supervisory Agency. Alternatively, you must have completed at least two-thirds of practical nurse studies or at least 60 ECTS credits of nursing studies. Students must always attach a current transcript showing completed credits. Depending on the assignment, we assess your education, stage of studies and skills when considering your suitability. We comply with section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and recommend the vaccination protection required under it for all customer- and patient-facing employees. Employees caring for infants must also have protection against whooping cough. Some services may require the selected person to provide a drug-test certificate. Substitutions include a probationary period that may be no longer than half the duration of the assignment. One team.
