Work-based Learning Apprentice at Zinc Plant

This vacancy is for a work-based learning apprenticeship at Boliden Kokkola’s zinc plant. The apprenticeship is designed for students completing vocational studies in process, laboratory, mechanical/production engineering, or electrical and automation fields. The trainee will gain firsthand exposure to the zinc plant’s operations on production floors, working as part of a skilled team responsible for diverse process start-up and maintenance tasks. Work may be day or shift-based. In mechanical maintenance, you will be part of a reliable team ensuring equipment runs smoothly, performing preventive maintenance and fault orders, and participating in commissioning of various projects. In electrical and automation maintenance, you will ensure uninterrupted operation of process equipment and assist with preventive maintenance, fault orders, and project commissioning activities. In the laboratory, the modern lab supports raw material, process control, product and environmental analytics. You will work in a team of about 30 people providing diverse analyses for zinc plant operations. You will be guided by experienced laboratory staff. Education requirements include completing theoretical vocational studies prior to the work-based learning period. You must be of legal working age and able to work in Finnish. Preference is given to applicants whose studies include on-site work-based learning with a training contract.
