Vocational Teacher

We are seeking a TUVA teacher for a permanent position at Kainuu Vocational College in Kajaani, starting September 14, 2026, or by agreement. The teacher's work is situated in the preparatory education for vocational qualification (TUVA). The goal of the education is to strengthen students' readiness to move into vocational studies, upper secondary school studies, or working life. For students with an immigrant background, the goal of the teaching is to strengthen language skills. The teacher's duties include the entities according to the TUVA education basics, as well as teaching, guidance, and supporting students. We value a practical and student-oriented approach, the ability to encounter and accept diversity, and experience in individual and group guidance. Special education teacher qualification is considered an advantage. A driver's license is essential for the performance of the duties. Eligibility requirements are determined according to Section 17 a of Decree 986/1998 (amended 1150/2017) on the eligibility requirements for teaching staff: - qualification as a primary school class teacher or subject teacher - qualification as an upper secondary school subject teacher - qualification as a vocational education teacher (vocational or common qualification modules) - qualification as a student counselor or special education teacher. The position may be filled on a fixed-term basis if no applicant meeting the eligibility requirements is found. The selected person must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Act 504/2002, an approved medical certificate of health, and, upon separate request, a certificate of a drug test.
