Economic Development Coordinator

We are seeking an Economic Development Coordinator to join our team. Savukoski municipality announces a temporary position as Economic Development Coordinator. The role is temporary for 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2028 and starts on 1 October 2026 or by agreement. The coordinator will work closely with the municipal CEO, entrepreneurs, associations, development organizations and other stakeholders to develop Savukoski’s vitality and business activity. Core responsibilities include business advisory service and entrepreneur guidance, active collaboration with local companies, and developing their operating conditions. The position also covers marketing of municipal economic opportunities and relocation services, ideation, preparation, coordination and reporting of development projects, and collaboration with regional, provincial and national actors. The coordinator will also prepare the municipality’s economic strategy in cooperation with entrepreneurs, elected officials and other stakeholders, and promote its practical implementation. Additionally, the role includes coordinating events and networks that support vitality and advancing the municipality’s strategic objectives from a development-political perspective. Qualifications include a relevant university degree. Experience in economic development, business collaboration, project administration and public administration is valued. The salary for the position is determined according to KVTES. There is a six-month probationary period. A medical certificate is required before starting.
