We are specifically looking for specialists in occupational health, orthopedics and traumatology, psychiatry, and dentistry. Applicants from other specialties will also be considered according to the State Treasury's tasks and competence needs. The State Treasury is responsible for several statutory compensation systems where medical expertise is of central importance. As a specialist physician, you will participate in the processing of compensation claims by providing medical assessments and statements to support decision-making. The role relates particularly to occupational accident and occupational disease cases, but medical expertise is also utilized in several other compensation types managed by the State Treasury. These include, for example, accidents of state personnel, accidents occurring during military and civil service, damages occurring in crisis management tasks, student accidents, traffic accidents, military disability matters, and various rehabilitation matters. In this role, you will assess, among other things, the causal links between injuries and diseases, work and functional capacity, degree of disability, rehabilitation needs, and the appropriateness of medical examinations and treatment procedures from the perspective of compensation legislation. Work is carried out in cooperation with compensation experts, lawyers, and other specialist physicians as part of a multidisciplinary professional community. The State Treasury's field of activity is broad, and we employ professionals from many different fields. We use modern tools in our multi-space office in Helsinki, and daily work is conducted in a dynamically evolving and encouraging atmosphere. Partial remote work is possible for the majority of tasks. We expect all State Treasury employees to have good cooperation skills, a service-oriented mindset, and a passion for learning and bold innovation. The State Treasury's work community is open, collaborative, and fair.
