Are you an experienced structural designer who wants to combine project management with demanding concrete structure design? Would you like to be responsible for the design entities of projects, leading a team while remaining involved in the design work itself? We are seeking a Project Manager for Structural Design for our Vaasa team to handle diverse design projects. As a Project Manager for Structural Design, you will lead structural design from the beginning to the end of projects. You will be responsible for the overall design, guide the design group, manage schedules and resources, and maintain active contact with the client and other stakeholders. You will also participate in the design work yourself, ensuring that solutions are technically high-quality and feasible. Keys to success in the role For the Project Manager position, we require at least eight years of experience in the structural design of concrete structures, including project management responsibilities. Your educational background should be suitable for the construction industry (M.Sc. Tech / B.Sc. Arch / Engineer), and you must master both the basics of statics and the dimensioning of load-bearing structures. You are proficient in Office tools as well as AutoCAD or Tekla Structures software. Proficiency in RFEM and other industry software is considered an advantage. You have the qualification for the design of highly demanding concrete structures or the prerequisites to apply for such qualification. Since you will collaborate extensively with both Sweco colleagues and clients, you need good interaction skills and the ability to communicate fluently and clearly in Finnish. You work naturally as part of a team, but you are also comfortable with independent tasks. You take responsibility for your own design work and are not afraid to devise new ways of doing things.
