Urology Specialist

We are seeking a Urology Specialist for the Urology line at HUS Vatsakeskus. The Urology units operate in Meilahti, Peijaksen, Hyvinkää, Lohja and Porvoo hospitals. At HUS Urology we treat diseases of the kidneys, urinary tract and male genital organs for both men and women within the HUS region and nationally for certain patient groups under centralized care. We perform diagnostic evaluation of urologic patients and manage them with surgery and medications. We actively conduct research and develop diagnostics and treatment modalities. We have over 70,000 outpatient contacts annually and perform about 5,200 surgeries. Our work is guided by patient-centeredness, equality and evidence-based practice. We use modern technologies and continually develop our care processes for patients’ benefit. We offer opportunities to work as an expert, good development possibilities and a competent and friendly team. We are certified training center by the European Board of Urology (EBU). We seek one (1) specialist physician for Urology. The position requires strong clinical experience and familiarity with urology as well as experience in medical research. Expertise in urologic cancer diagnostics and treatment is an advantage. The selected specialist is expected to participate in developing penile cancer treatment. Surgical skills at a level enabling teaching of penile cancer surgery techniques are an advantage. Willingness to develop minimally invasive treatment methods for penile cancer is part of the job. The physician will work in a multi-disciplinary uro-oncologic team, contributing to the handling of penile cancer. Active participation in uro-oncology research projects and improving patient care processes, and good teamwork skills are beneficial. Applicants should be interested in developing the urological outpatient clinic in a multi-disciplinary setting. Experience in teaching is an advantage. The selected candidate will work in Meilahti and Peijaksa hospitals according to the training needs but may work at other HUS hospitals in the future. Please apply by the deadline.
