Unit Manager

We are now looking for a UNIT MANAGER to be responsible for the operations of our unit located in Nurmes, in the parish of Valtimo. Tavana Kotiharju provides supported housing, community living, and 24-hour service housing for people with intellectual disabilities. Each of our customers lives a life of their own. We support the customer holistically in their everyday life and take into account everyone's wishes, resources, and strengths. As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for the high-quality production of services in your unit, the smooth and economical organization of operations, and development. You act as an encouraging and coaching line manager for a team of about 10 people and create a good community spirit around you. Your team includes a supervising instructor, instructors, and an assistant worker. Your job description includes 50% administrative work and 50% client work. We hope that you are a nurse by training, in which case your duties also include the duties of the unit's medication manager. We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic team player who is able to organize their work environment and is not afraid to make independent decisions. You understand that the goal of the service is to produce impactful, high-quality, and economically viable services. The well-being, development, and maintenance of the meaningfulness of work for the staff are close to your heart. Successful performance of the task requires experience in disability work, leadership skills, management of financial matters, system expertise, networking with different parties, and the ability to act in challenging situations. We expect from you: - Bachelor's degree in Nursing (other social and health care AMK degrees will also be considered) - Experience in disability work (for at least 2 years) - Experience in supervisory positions (for at least 2 years) - Good interaction and organizational skills - Good IT skills (e.g., Office tools, shift planning and daily reporting tools) - Criminal record extract - Registration in Valvira's central register of professional personnel What do we offer you?
