About the role

We are seeking a qualified early childhood teacher for a permanent position at Pikku-Karhun Daycare from 1 September 2026. Our unit comprises three separate locations: Kauklahden Daycare (4 groups), Hansakallio School’s preschool (4 groups), and Pikku-Karhun Daycare (3 groups). We now seek a teacher for the Pikku-Karhun unit. As an early childhood teacher, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and developing the pedagogical activities for your own group in collaboration with your team. Your colleagues include another early childhood teacher and a childminder. You will work closely with other teams and maintain strong cooperation with families and networks. The job site is Pikku-Karhun Daycare, Tervamäki 2, 02810 Espoo. Working hours are 38 h 15 min per week. The position is permanent starting 01.09.2026. Applications will be reviewed as they come in and interviews held during the application period. A suitable candidate will be selected as soon as found. We welcome applicants as soon as possible. Candidates must have the qualification required by Varhaiskasvatuslaki (540/2018). A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in education with training as an early childhood teacher, or a degree from a social and health care university of applied sciences (early childhood education) or an equivalent vocational degree (e.g., nursery teacher or social educator). Newly graduating early childhood teachers are also welcome. Knowledge of the early childhood curriculum and the ability to lead the team as team leader are required. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as required by the Criminal Records Act. Tuberculosis exposure risk must be assessed in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act for those working with under-7s.
