About the role

We are seeking a counselor for our unit of high-need foster care in child protection, Huittinen Kuntola. The unit is intended for children and adolescents aged 8-17. It comprises ten places divided into two small units. We specialize in intensive care for youths with psychiatric and neuropsychiatric difficulties as well as psychiatric and functional rehabilitation. Our staff ratio is very high, enabling individual and safe interaction with each child or adolescent. Our primary goal is to offer the children and youths a stable, functional everyday life led by adults. We do not care for children or youths showing signs of substance abuse or crime. We are looking for a professional who has a positive and solution-focused approach and experience in child protection, psychiatric work, or work with developmental disabilities. In challenging situations you place the child’s and youth’s best interest first, and you can be firm yet gentle. We also value humor and a positive attitude. At Kuntola we offer: - A flat organization and an agile company culture; decisions are fast and the atmosphere is relaxed but professional. - A small client group and strong staffing; very high staffing enables active and functional daily life and individual, safe interaction with children and youths. - Comprehensive orientation covering your tasks, unit operations and common practices as well as dealing with children and youths. - Opportunity to influence your work shifts and holidays; we work long shifts of about 10-12 hours on weekdays and weekends. There are permanent night shifts, and you may also occasionally take night shifts if you wish. - Opportunities for professional development; continuous training for our teams and access to long trainings; psychiatry case supervision is also available. - Good staff benefits such as Smartum exercise and culture benefit, company bicycle and comprehensive leisure-time accident insurance. - Salary: private social services sector collective agreement; base education G22E (2526.70 € - 2860.61 €), AMK-education G25E (3047.45 € - 3324.77 €).
