Keskuskoulu is seeking a fixed-term school assistant for the period 1.9.–19.12.2026. We have a praised archipelago and the sea within easy reach. Our school is a primary school with approximately 160 students in the center of Raahe. The school provides general education classes 1-6, music classes for grades 3-6, a special education class 1-6, and a small group general education class 1-6. The work community supports everyone's success in their work. Job Description We are looking for a school assistant to work as a personal assistant for a student with challenging behavior, as well as partially in other school assistant duties and afternoon activities. Working hours are 30 hours per week. Skills We expect the school assistant to have good cooperation and interaction skills, a child-oriented and motivated approach, initiative, and the ability to work with students with behavioral challenges. Experience as a personal assistant for a student with challenging behavior, MAPA or AVEKKI training, and the ability to act as an assistant also in physical education and handicraft lessons are considered an advantage. Eligibility Requirements Eligibility requires a vocational qualification in school and morning/afternoon activity guidance (formerly vocational qualification as a school assistant) or an equivalent vocational qualification. In the absence of eligible applicants, the fixed-term position may also be filled by a person who does not have the degree required by the eligibility condition. Original certificates proving eligibility must be presented during a possible interview. The selected person must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Act 504/2002 before accepting the position. Employment Terms The terms of employment are determined in accordance with the municipal general civil servants' and employees' collective agreement (KVTES). A probationary period will be applied to the duties, determined by the duration of the fixed term.
