About the role

The position is related to the government's goal of hiring 500 young people in new fixed-term service relationships as seasonal workers and higher education trainees during 2026. The positions are intended specifically for persons aged 18–25 seeking their first job in the state sector. The selected person must not have other public funding support. We are seeking a higher education trainee to support the evolving impact work of the National Land Survey of Finland's basic spatial data production unit for the period 1.10.–31.12.2026 or as agreed. The duration of the service relationship is a maximum of 3 months. The position is suitable for a person with approximately two years of higher education studies, for example, in geography, geoinformatics, or social sciences. A central part of the role is to make visible how maps, positioning, and spatial data affect the functioning of society. A key aspect of the work is to concretize the impact for different target groups. Key tasks: - Assist in the planning and implementation of impact work - Produce background materials, presentations, and impact stories - Prepare stakeholder surveys and participate in stakeholder work - Collect and analyze information on how spatial data is utilized and what value it produces - Illustrate and visualize impact work, e.g., by creating presentations, graphics, and maps - Formulate analysis results into an understandable format - Participate in presenting the impact at various events
