The City of Kotka's wellbeing and employment responsibility area, in the wellbeing promotion service unit, is seeking a fixed-term Project Coordinator for the period 14.9.2026-13.9.2027 to coordinate the 'Naapurit Apuna' (Neighbors as Help) community preparedness development project. The Naapurit Apuna project is a year-long pilot and development project aimed at building new types of network cooperation and developing, testing, and modeling community preparedness operating methods in various residential areas within Kotka. The project prepares for various disruption situations and practices acting as a community. Additionally, the project includes data collection, documentation, evaluation, and reporting. Are you the person we are looking for, with expertise in promoting community, the ability to network, try new things, and develop preparedness models extensively and boldly in the Kotka region? In this role, you will work in the wellbeing promotion service unit, but your task is to develop community preparedness using a multidisciplinary approach across the entire city organization, with various authorities and partners. The role involves working with residents and conducting workshops as well as practical emergency exercise drills. The eligibility requirement for the position is a suitable university degree. Successful performance of the duties requires excellent project management skills and an independent working style. We expect innovativeness, positivity, a development-oriented mindset, good organizational and cooperation skills, an independent and proactive approach, and sufficient ICT skills. Experience in participatory work and service design is also desired. We offer a versatile and interesting job where you can influence the development of the overall security of the City of Kotka and create new operating models together with experts and networks. Working hours are 36.25 h/week. The position offers partial remote work possibilities and some evening and weekend work. The job requires the use of a private car.
